Hi once more Steven. I’m very glad that you commented again. Satan cannot perform miracles. There is ample evidence in the bible that he could at one time “possess” one’s body and cause them to do harmful things, but satan never did have the power to overcome nature as God does. But satan’s ability to possess people’s bodies was taken away when Christ died and ascended into heaven. Satan was limited by God at that time, and as the bible puts it, “taken captive”. Ephesians 4:8 says, “When He ascended on High, He led captive, a host of captives, and gave gifts to men.” The gifts that were given to men, were miraculous gifts, to be used for the confirming of the word of God, that these men would preach (the miraculous ability would be a sign that the word they spoke was from God), and the captives, that were led captive, were satan and his angels, who had previously had the ability to hold men captive, so to speak. And so a “host of captives, were led captive”.

Today satan decieves us and tempts us through our own lusts, as we lust for the things of this world, instead of putting God first in our lives. Satan is a spirit, just as God is a spirit. But satan is the spirit of this world. And he wants you and I to put this world first. That’s why the bible says, “What will it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36. Verse 37 asks, “What would a man give, in exchange for his soul?” In other words, would a man give up the things of this world, if God gives you your soul back, in return. We’ve actually sold our soul to satan, by following him, and we need to get it back. And so God says in Mathew 6:33, “But seek first, His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. These things He mentions, are the necessities of this world, the necessities of physical life. That’s a promise from God. Seek FIRST, His kingdom and the doing of His will (that’s what righteousness is), and He will give us all the things that we need for this life, and He will give us our soul back. In other words He will give eternal life to our soul. Otherwise our soul is in the possession of satan, and bound for eternal darkness, separated from God.

I understand god can do miracles as and when he see fit, but I am curious to know if satan can perform miracles.

I know he’s just a cast out angel and has nowhere near as much power as god but he is a great deceiver does he have any power or was they took when cast out.
