Hi Axton, thanks for your comment and question. That's a very good question too. I think I'll actually do a post in answer to that. But I can answer it very quickly here as well. You see it's very easy to answer. God doesn't classify sins like man tends to want to do. No one sin is any greater than any other. And so when it comes to repentance, we either repent totally of ALL sin, or we remain IN sin. It's that simple. God's word says, "For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he had become guilty of ALL!" James 2:10. Here's the next verse, "For He who said; You shall not commit adultery, also said; You shall not commit murder. If you do not commit adultery, but DO commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker." So you could substitute any two laws for the ones given in the example. If you don't commit murder, but you DO commit a "small" lie, you have become a lawbreaker, and you have become guilty of ALL! (again, it's man who wants to classify one lie as being worse than another) So you see, there IS a balance between sin and repentance. The balance is.. Total guilt balanced against total repentance. It's that simple. Thanks so much for your question. I hope that the bible has answered your question. If you have any more things that you wonder about, please don't hesitate to ask. May God bless you, Jim.
