You Are All One In Christ!
Your body has a gender, but your spirit does NOT! It is our spirits that enter into a covenant relationship with Christ, and Galatians 3:28 tells us, “..there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ.” Your body is not who you are. Your spirit is who you are. God told the prophet Jeremiah, in Jeremiah 1:5; “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” In other words; Before I formed your body, I knew your spirit. And God has put your spirit in a body that He has chosen.
Therefore, you can see that it is impossible for anyone to be a man, in a woman’s body, or for anyone to be a woman, in a man’s body. Your genderless spirit is in the exact body that God choose to put it in.
I hear stories about parents who want their children to grow up and decide for themselves what gender they are. Trust me, human anatomy is not that difficult to ascertain. When God said, in the first part of Genesis 1:27; “And God created man in His own image..” God was referring to the spirit of man. Since we know that “God is Spirit” (John 4:24), our spirit, is therefore the only part of us that could be made in God’s image.
When God said, in the last part of Genesis 1:27; “..Male and female, He created them”, He was obviously speaking of our bodies, since we’ve already determined that our spirits are genderless.
God has given each one of us a role to fulfill. And as humble servants, we need to fulfill the role that God has assigned to us. Some people don’t like the role they’ve been assigned, but mutilating our bodies won’t change God’s decision, and it won’t diminish our responsibility.
God has also given each one of us differing talents and abilities, and many people aren’t satisfied with those God-given talents either. But again, as humble servants, we need to fulfill our role in this life, equipped as God has chosen. “Your life is but a vapor, that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away.” James 4:14. We won’t be in our bodies eternally.
We’d all be very well-served, to honor God’s decisions, and to honor His word, as expressed in Romans 12:1; “I urge you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, well-pleasing to God, your spiritual service.” In other words, Our bodies are to be used as the method, or the “vehicle” by which our spirits, render their service to God.
And don’t worry, there’s a “spiritual body” awaiting you in heaven. We’re assured, in 1 Corinthians 15:44; “It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.” Verse 46 says; “However the spiritual is not first, but the natural, then the spiritual.”
If you will develop faith in God, by studying His word (Romans 10:17 says; “So then faith comes by hearing the word of God), and then if you obey His will (Hebrews 5:9 says; “He is the author of salvation to all those who obey Him), then your spiritual body awaits you!
May God bless you all.
